What We Do

Kids Wood Play Cafè is an innovative hybrid of a thoughtfully designed educational play environment for children which are Montessori and Waldorf-inspired and a full service cafe which serves specialty coffee and quality, nutritious meals for the parents and their children.

Our Play Environment

The future world for our children will be a culmination of all of our choices. So as far as intentional parenting is concerned, we make toy purchases that are not harmful to our environment and to our children. Kids Wood Play Cafè carries branded toys from all around the world that are sustainably produced - they are made from renewable wood or are sourced from sustainably managed forests.

Our toys in the Kids Cafè follow that of Montessori and Waldorf principles. These two methods limit the use of technology in exchange for toys that encourage development of fine motor, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; role playing and imagination. Forging a connection with the natural environment is also the focus of these two methods, hence, most of our toys are made from natural materials.

These toys are on the pricey side so the Kids Cafè would be the avenue where children and parents can rent to play with these toys. We want to cultivate a community where the children and parents can enjoy the healing power of playing and discovering together. Through our play environment, we hope to inspire that playing together creates closeness and slowing down, especially for adults.

Our Kids Cafe

As the founders are inspired by the Montessori principle, the dining area for kids is made in such a way that it will instill independence in them. They can order by themselves at the child-height counter area. They will have the ability to choose their own food through the pictures in the cafe menu. They can get the trays by themselves and set it on their table. We encourage them to clean up after they are done eating. We have step stools in the toilet for them to reach the handwashing lavatory and so that they can easily access the adult-sized toilet. We encourage removing shoes by themselves through the child-sized stools and benches and putting the shoes at the open, low-level cubby holes. All these things are encouraged in our Kids Cafe so that the little ones can feel that they are a functional member of the community. They can do it!
